Welcome to Yoga Union—Your Journey Begins Here

Explore your practice, connect with our community, and honour your body and mind.

Here’s everything you need to get started.

Studio Etiquette

To help you and others enjoy every class, here are a few ways to honour our shared space.

  • Arrive a few minutes early; classes start on time.

  • Stay for the full duration to honour your practice and others, including your final Savasana—a time to rest, integrate, and fully receive the benefits of your practice.

  • Silence phones, smart watches, and electronics; store belongings outside the studio.

  • Maintain quiet—no talking in the studio room.

  • Respect the space, equipment, and each student’s practice.

  • Follow teacher and Front of House guidance at all times.

Parking & Arrival

If you’ve never been to our studio before, you can either drop in at least 20 minutes before class to sign waiver forms and get set up, or you can purchase a drop-in or introductory trial through Mindbody and book your first class in advance. Arriving early helps you settle in and enjoy your practice fully.

  • Street parking and local lots are available; plan extra time during peak hours.

  • Yoga Union has designated parking spots; additional 2-hour spots are available around the complex.

  • Parking is also available across the street at the rec centre.

  • Doors open 30 minutes before class; new students should arrive 20 minutes early.

  • Arrive early to allow for check-in and set-up.

Booking & Mindbody

Booking your classes is simple—here’s how to get started.

Set Up Your Mindbody Profile

All yogis are required to sign our studio waiver and set up a profile (see link below) via the Mindbody app. Classes can be booked one week in advance, and a credit card must be applied to your account in order to book classes. If you are waitlisted, please wait to be notified via Mindbody if you have been moved into the class.

Hot Yoga: Hydration & Food Tips

To help your body feel its best in class, consider these hydration and nutrition tips.

  1. Drink water before, during, and after class.

  2. Avoid heavy meals 2-3 hours before hot classes; light snacks like a banana or a small protein bite are fine if needed.

  3. For heavy sweaters: sweat buckets are provided. Bring extra towels if you’d like.

  4. Wear clothing you feel comfortable in. Hot yoga classes are held in a heated, humid room, so choose attire that supports your practice and allows you to move freely.

  5. Hydrate with electrolytes 45–60 minutes before class; drinking during class helps with recovery but is too late for preparation.

  6. Different electrolytes are available for purchase at the studio, including Nuun, juices, kombucha, coconut water, and more.

  7. Hot yoga is a journey and a practice. It takes time to understand what works best for your body, so stay open, curious, and keep coming back!

Age Restrictions

  • All standard classes are for students 12 years and older. This is non-negotiable, with hot classes in particular requiring focus, body awareness, and the ability to safely handle intense heat, which may be too challenging for younger children.

  • Occasionally, we offer kid-friendly classes for children under 12, which are clearly labeled and supervised.

  • If you’re interested in a kid-style class, we also offer private 1:1 sessions with our instructors. Email us at info@yogaunion.yoga for more information.
