Kimberley Yoga Union

Kimberley

Kimberley spent may years traveling the world as a professional figure skater and a semi-professional dancer. She later went on to build a very successful career for herself in hairdressing. Although her passions fuelled her life, they also came with many injuries and a physical price.

Kimberley remembers being invited to do a pose in her first yoga class and thought to herself "Why are you inviting me to do something? Why don't you just tell me to do it? "  As the effects of chronic pain from her back, shoulders, and feet began to drain her and took a toll on her life she knew she needed to give yoga another try.

After years of trying to treat her pain through chiropractic, massage, acupuncture, and any other therapy she could think of, Plantar Fasciitis took over her life. Kimberley knew it was time to accept the invitation and return to yoga once again.

As Kimberley's Plantar Fasciitis worsened, she was no longer able to dance. She turned to yoga to get her through and began practicing daily, sometimes twice a day, in hopes to be able to return to doing what she loved. Slowly but surely after taking a full year off, she began to dance once again, but not without a newfound passion for yoga.

Kimberley wouldn’t be where she is today without the healing power of yoga practice. Inspired by her journey, she went on to take her first Yoga Teacher Training. She discovered her years of dance and figure skating influenced and inspired her as both a student and teacher. Her classes are creatively sequenced and flow freely playing with elements of dance. Kimberely has found a new depth of love through teaching yoga. Each time she teaches, she finds herself more and more excited to continually learn and grow.
